LEAD Student Contest in Honor of Black History

In honor of Black History Month, we would like to encourage ALL Hillsborough County Public Schools students in grades 3-12 and post-secondary education to participate in LEAD, a district-wide student contest. LEAD stands for Learn, Empower, Advocate, Dream. This contest challenges students to create an artistic interpretation expressing how they have been inspired by a local black leader in their home, in their school, or in their community. For example you may want to consider your pastor, a teacher, a coach, a law enforcement officer, or even a family member.

You can express your interpretation in any one of these three categories: Literature, Performance, or Visual Arts.

There are some amazing prizes lined up for our winners, including a post-secondary scholarship. All entries must be submitted by 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 16, 2018
